A La Carte is a nifty menu utility which is designed to help you open frequently used applications, documents, and folders. A La Carte places a menu near the balloon help menu which you can access from any application. From the menu, you can launch an application with or without an attached document, or bring a folder to the front in a Finder window. The power of A La Carte is that it automatically keeps track of recently used items, so that your most recent work is readily accessible.

A La Carte is a System 7 Control Panel Device which has several configuration options, online help and balloon help. A La Carte has been tested extensively on a variety of 680x0 based Macintoshes as well as the latest Power Macintosh family.  A La Carte is shareware, if you like this utility we ask that you pay a shareware fee of $10.  We have included a registration form with this distribution to assist you in registering.

  13. Installation Instructions:
  14. A La Carteｪ is a control panel.  To install it, drag the "A La Carte" file into the "Control Panels" folder (inside the system folder).  Also, drag the "A La Carte Help" file into the "Preferences" folder (inside the system folder).  After the next restart, the A La Carteｪ menu will appear next to the balloon help menu in the upper right corner of your screen.

A La Carteｪ is distributed as Shareware.  It can be freely distributed so long as there is no fee charged and all original documentation is included with the distribution.  You may use A La Carteｪ on a trial basis for up to 30 days.  If you wish to continue using it beyond that period, you are required to pay a registration fee of $10.  See the registration details at the end of this document, or use the registration form included with this distribution.
